The topic of ‘suicide’ has remained shrouded over the years, despite the fact that it is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Suicide is often is seen as mental defectiveness, and people who go through it or even think about it are ashamed of other people rather than giving a helping hand.
There comes the point in everyone’s life when they don’t feel like continuing with life, but whenever you feel that just remember that the celebrities on this list also thought about it, but decided to live and grace the world with their talent.

1. Johnny Cash
In 1967, Johnny Cash after suffering from addiction to amphetamines and barbiturates decided to give up his life. However, the late singer claimed that he heard the voice of God which told him to hang in there and he did the same thing.
2. Ronda Rousey
Former UFC Champion revealed that she considered suicide after her knockout loss with Holly Holm in November 2016. The loss had a tragic impact on her mind.
3. Elton John
Have you ever listened to Elton John’s “Someone Saved My Life Tonight?” If not, then listen to it. The song is a true story where he talks about how his collaborator Bernie Taupin yanked his head out of an oven to save the singer from asphyxiating on gas.
4. Paris Jackson
Michael Jackson’s daughter had tried to kill herself multiple times when an old man assaulted her. After her attempts, she was sent to therapeutic school in Utah where she learned to become a better person.
5. Drew Barrymore
From troubled teenager to one of the Hollywood’s biggest stars, Drew Barrymore’s journey has been amazing. Though, we would not have been able to witness this if she would’ve died after committing suicide by slicing her wrists at the age of 14.
6. Halle Berry
After the failed marriage with Baseball star, David Justice, the actress tried to gas herself but decided against it at the last minute. In an interview, she said, “I promised myself I would never be a coward again.”
In 1996, Eminem attempted suicide by overdosing on painkiller, Tylenol after his daughter was born and he was not able to support her and his family.
8. Mike Tyson
In an interview, Mike Tyson revealed that his promoter, Don King manipulated and used him which led to drug abuse, depression and a suicide attempt.
9. Britney Spears
One of the Britney Spears biographies stated that the singer twice attempted to kill herself in 2006. In an interview with Life & Style, Ian Halperin (writer of biography) said, “I spoke with her many times and went to her house.”
10. Princess Diana
According to the biographer, Andrew Morton, Princess Diana tried to kill herself on five different occasions. In the book, Diana: Her True Story, it is described how he used different methods including slicing the wrists and throwing herself down the stairs while being pregnant.
11. Sinead O’Connor
Sinead tried to end her life in 2012 by overdosing on pills. She even took to Twitter after her suicide attempt and said, “I just had to make a cry for help.”
